Bipolar disorder
We define bipolar disorder as a state of mental
illness that involves extreme mood swings. We categorize these extremes into
two extremes, extremely high, which leads to mania. Second, extremely low,
which leads to depression. Episodes of depression and manic last from several
weeks to several months.

Signs and symptoms of mania and depression are
different. A person who has manic episodes (high) has the following symptoms:-
1- Easily distract
2-Overexcited
3-Feel thrilled
4- Very hopeful
5-Feels very energetic
6-Easily irritated and agitation
7-In a state of sleeplessness or insomnia
8-Give much importance to them
9-Sudden change in their behaviors from extreme
happiness to extreme irritation.
10-Restless
11- Patients do not care about their diet or poor
proper diet.
12- They have hallucinations and delusions
13- Very talkative
14- They have a high level of sex drive
15- They take drugs. For example, sleeping pills.
16-They have poor judgments
17- Have racing thoughts and rapidly changing topics
18- Engage in risky behaviors
Depressive episodes (low), a person have the following symptoms:-
1-Feeling of hopelessness, empty, alone for long
periods
2-Feeling of guilt
3-He feels a lack of energy
4-Easily tired or feeling of fatigue
5-Issues with sleep, sleep too much or sleepiness,
waking up early
6-Feel difficulty in remembering things
7-They have suicidal thoughts
8-Change in their appetite, unintended weight loss,
or weight gain
9-Feeling of a pessimist about everything
10-Feeling of self-doubt
11-They talk very less
12- Less ability to feel pleasure
13- They may attempt suicide
14- Withdraw from family and friends (lack of social
interaction)
15-A decreased or absent sex drive
16- Cannot perform simple tasks
17- They have trouble concentrating or deciding
